Raising the Bar: Causal Evidence on Gender Differences in Risk-Taking From a Natural Experiment

چکیده
We investigate the risk-taking behavior of women and men in high-stakes jumping competitions. Results indicated that female male athletes differ timing extent their reactions to an increase risk failure. Male competitors increased more risky environment immediately after changes. Female athletes, however, two years rule change. Over time, revert pre-reform levels, athletes’ continued make decisions new environment. attribute our findings gender differences competitiveness preferences.
